Rules
We don't want to have overly complicated rules, but you must
follow the rules we set forth. Failure to do so may result in
disqualification from the rally. Any infractions will be dealt
with by the rally master. These rules have been modified from Team
Strange's "Uniform Rules". Their complete rules can be
found here.
Motorcycle/rider requirements:
- You must be currently registered and insured. Proof of registration/insurance will be required at
the check-in.
- You must have a valid driver's license with correct motorcycle
endorsement.
- Helmet use required.
- You must sign all waivers/releases.
- Swapping of motorcycles during the rally will result in a 5000
point penalty.
- You will be required to document odometer readings at each
bonus location, so you must have a functioning odometer. Should
your odometer fail during the rally, you may not collect bonus
points until it has been repaired.
- Your motorcycle must finish under it's own power. If it dies,
you can't tow it to the finish.
Auxiliary Fuel Systems
- Auxiliary fuel systems are not required.
- If you use an auxiliary fuel system, it must be mounted in a secure
manner. This means you can't bungee cord a gas can to your bike. An
auxiliary fuel system is intended to mean an aux. fuel tank plumbed
into your current fuel system. The ironbutt.com website will give you
an idea on what is allowable. A system from tourtank.com or a system
such as a jaz tank is allowed.
Rider conduct
- Riders are expected to ride in a sportsman-like fashion at all times during the rally.
- Any attempt at cheating, even to the degree that you do not
understand the rules, can result in disqualification.
- Riders shall not share answers.
- Riders are expected to render aid to other participants in
emergency situations. If you come upon another rider who is
injured, you must render aid. Notify the rally master and you
will receive a time extension for time lost. If you aid a rider
in a non-emergency situation, you may not receive a time
extension. Example: If a rider has a mechanical issue and you
stop to let that rider use your cell phone, we will probably
give you a few extra minutes to make up that time lost. If you
stay to help fix the problem, you probably won't be granted the
time. This will all be at the discretion of the rally master.
- You may be disqualified for any acts that have a negative impact on the rally, it's volunteers, or anyone associated with
the rally.
Bonus Hunting
- It is the rider's responsibility to ensure he leaves the start with a complete bonus list.
- This will be a photo bonus rally. Unless otherwise specified, you will be required to take a picture of the bonus location to prove you were there.
- Your rally flag, shirt (whatever is used for verification) must be in every photo unless otherwise specified.
- Loss of rally flag will result in a 5000 point penalty. Failure to show up to the scoring table with your rally flag will be considered a loss of said flag.
- In some cases, a question will be asked in place of obtaining a photo. There will be no sharing of answers. Basically, no cheating.
- If you are asked for receipts to be claimed as a bonus,
receipts must have date/time stamps and show location.
- It is the riders responsibility to have his answer sheet
correctly filled in at the time he turns it in. You will not be
allowed to change or add answers once your sheet is turned in.
- You may not claim any bonus which you didn't actually ride to.
We will use odometer readings from your answer sheet to verify
bonus'.
